Here’s a credo that I’ve based my business philosophy on since the beginning:

WHAT IS A CUSTOMER?

A Customer Is –

• the most important person ever in this office, either in person or otherwise
• not dependent on us, we are dependent upon them
• not an interruption of our work, but the purpose of it
• we are not doing them a favor by being of service, they are doing a favor by giving us an opportunity to do so
• not an outsider to our business, they are a part of it
• not a cold statistic, and name on a file, or a ledger sheet – they are flesh and bone human beings with biases, prejudices, feelings, and emotions like our own
• not someone to argue with – nobody ever won and argument with a customer
• a person who brings us their wants – it’s our job to fill them profitably for them and ourselves
